Cheryl Gillian AS yn holi holl ardranau'r llywodraeth sawl siaradwr Cymraeg maen't yn gyflogi

15.11.07

Wedi dod ar draws y post hwn ar Dizzy Drinks, ble mae'r awdur yn ei weld yn ddoniol bod y Weinyddiaeth Amddiffyn yn gwybod faint o'u staff sy'n gallu siarad Cymraeg, ond nod oedd y Swyddfa Dramor yn. Dyma fi'n edrych ar gwestiynnau ysgrifennedig diweddar Cheryl Gillian (Llefarydd y Ceidwadwyr ar Gymru) i weld pwy arall oedd hi wedi ei holi.

Mae rhai o'r gwahanol atebion yn ddifyr.

Swyddfa Gartref: The Home Office does not collect information about the number of Welsh speakers within the Department.

Adran Trafnidiaeth: The information requested can be provided only at disproportionate cost.

Adran Diwylliant, Cyfryngau a Chwaraeon: We are unable to provide an answer as the Department does not hold information on how many Welsh speakers it employs; the information requested could be provided only at disproportionate cost.

Trysorlys: It is not compulsory for HM Treasury employees to declare that they are Welsh speakers, however, four employees have declared that they are Welsh speakers.

Wel, oce tydi'r atebion ddim yn ddifyr o gwbwl, ond beth yw cymhelliad Gillian i'w gofyn yn y lle cyntaf sgwn i? A'i gweld os yw'r gallu i siarad Cymraeg yn cael ei nodi o gwbwl/ os oes tan gynrychiolaeth o siaradwyr Cymraeg neu a'i ceisio profi neu gwrthbrofi mai siaradwyr Cymraeg yn unig sy'n cael eu cyflogi gan y sector gyhoeddus!

Mi ofynodd hi ddau gwestiwn difyr arall hefyd, ond roedd yr atebion yn rhai crap:

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what proportion of each type of food served in his Department in the last 12 months was (a) British and (b) Welsh origin?

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform what consideration he has given to moving one public holiday in Wales to St. David's Day; and what estimate he has made of the costs associated with such a move.
Ateb:The present pattern of bank holidays in the United Kingdom is well established and accepted, and the Government have no current plans to change the arrangements

Diawled.
